Paid internship – International Expansion Assistant
Who are we and what do we do?
We are Twigsee, a startup digitizing pre-school education by connecting parents and teachers through mobile apps, and in a large-scale administration we handle over 80% of their administrative agenda for kindergarten management in a few clicks, automatically. This saves time, money and energy for all parties and frees up teachers to focus on what matters most, our children.
Where are we and where are we going?
We have over 10,000 families in about 200 schools in the country using us, over 500,000 assignments have already been processed through the system, and thousands of photos flow through our apps every day. Fortunately, we do not perceive that digitalization in education is a hot topic alone. We were included in the Innovators20 ranking (TOP 20 most innovative Czech companies of 2020), we won the Women Startup Competition 2021, and we are currently incubating in two accelerators – CzechStarter from CzechInvest and ČSOB StartIt..
However, the Czech Republic is just the beginning for us. We are currently piloting in the Slovak market and in the coming weeks we are going to test dozens more around the world. We want to test market fit and establish ourselves in ten more markets within a year. And you can help us do that.

What will you be working on?
Our founder Vanda is personally in charge of international expansion and you will be her right hand. Together you will look at the market potential, prepare analyses of the markets and local competitors, devise appropriate go-to-market strategies. But it will also be a lot about contacts – you’ll connect to dozens of interesting people from all over the world, arranging synergies and collaborations with them. As soon as the covid-situation allows (and hopefully soon), you will go on a few business trips together to selected countries. This will give you an insight into the world of business, startups, and how to do international expansion in several countries at once. It’s going to be a ride. Vanda will mentor you and you can learn from her.
What form will the internship take?
This is a paid internship of ideally 20hrs/week (can be adjusted by agreement). We are based in Prague, Karlín and you will have your own place. There is never a lack of great coffee, something good to eat and drink, shisha, a great team and a lot of fun. Operationally it is possible to do part of the agenda remotely, i.e. remotely from anywhere. We will set weekly tasks and goals, very soon we would like to give you free hands for your own creative ideas. The duration of the cooperation is at least 6 months, but if everything fits, we will be happy to extend it or even offer you a permanent position in an international team dealing with expansion.
Who are we looking for and what do we offer?
Ideally university students in fields such as international relations, diplomacy, international business, etc. We are looking for self-reliant people, young leaders who want to learn fast but also can quickly get their hands on very interesting agendas, meet high level people from all over the world, travel to conferences and business meetings. You definitely need to have good organisational skills and ideally not be afraid to think a bit “outside of the box”. Perfect Czech/Slovak and English is a must, basic computer skills and technology orientation are probably a no-brainer. We are more about soft skills than what you can do – we will teach you what you need to know. For the internship we offer 15.000 CZK / month, we can arrange to cooperate via OSVČ or DPP. In addition, if you work quickly, we will take you on a few business trips abroad or conferences.
